Sixth Seal – Earth Trembles, Terror Emerges & Physical Change has Arrived

People are experiencing death, chaos, and destruction around the globe. This will be the work of the 4 horsemen in the first 4 seals.

The 5th seal shows those killed for their faith crying out for God to avenge their blood. Now we come to the 6th seal. This seal is different in that people know “the wrath of the Lamb has come.” (Revelation 6:16-17). 6 things happen at the opening of this seal. We will look at each one.

Revelation 6:12-14 KJV 12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

God Warns Before The 6th Seal Takes Place

God gives many warnings through scripture. Here are a few below.

God warns us in the Old Testament

Haggai 2:6-7 KJV  6 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.

Joel 2:10-11 KJV  10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: 11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

God warns us in the New Testament

Luke 21:25-26 KJV  25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Matthew 24:29 KJV 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

We have earthquakes all the time. Many have destroyed and caused an enormous amount of damage. The damage and magnitude of this earthquake will be off the charts. This will be beyond comprehension and will effect the earth in irreversible ways. This is reminiscent to the great flood on Noah’s day.

Continental Drift and the Bible

If continental separation did occur, the only place within the Bible framework where it could fit would be during Noah’s Flood. The cause of Noah’s Flood is described in tectonic terms: “all the fountains of the great deep broken up” (Genesis 7:11). The Hebrew word for “broken up” is baga and is used in other Old Testament passages (Zechariah 14:4; Numbers 16:31) to refer to the geologic phenomena of faulting. The mechanism for retreat of the Flood waters is also associated with tectonics.

Psalm 104:6,7 describes the abating of the waters which stood above the mountains; the eighth verse properly translated says, “The mountains rose up; the valleys sank down.” It is interesting to note that the “mountains of Ararat” (Genesis 8:4), the resting place of the Ark after the 150th day of the Flood, are in a tectonically active region at the junction of three lithospheric plates.11… by Institute for Creation Research

God in His mercy has been warning about this event for a long time. Why? Ezekiel 18:23 tells us God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.

God will use this earthquake to shake the heavens, earth, sea, dry land, and all the nations. As people see and experience all these events their hearts will literally stop and they will die. Please, know that the church will be gone (raptured). The fullness of God’s wrath will be upon those left on the earth. The next effect will be the sun turning black.

The sun turns black like funeral clothes.

The phrase “the sun became black as sackcloth of hair” refers to funeral clothing. Funeral clothes back then were made of goats hair. The color of the goats hair is very dark black.

With the light of the sun darkened this will cause the temperature on the earth to drop and it will instantly become very cold. Also, the weather of seasons will change and this will effect all of life. God warns us through His word. He does not want us to be ignorant of the coming events.

Isaiah 13:9-10,13 KJV 9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. 10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine…. 13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Joel 2:30-31 KJV 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

Reality Check With No Sunlight

Put what will happen into perspective, with no sunlight this will take place:

• Plants, trees, flowers and all vegetation will die off.
• This will severely disrupt the way nature functions.
• Animals that eat vegetation will die and those that eat meat will die off as well.
• People need oxygen that the plants, trees, flowers and all vegetation produce.
• People also need the vegetation and animals for food.

The list above is tiny compared to all the consequences of having no sunlight. Can you imagine this is the sixth seal and we have not even touched the seventh seal, seven trumpets or the seven bowls. Everyone will be in survival mode. Next the moon becomes as blood.

Brief Look At The Moon

With the sun not shining the moon has lost its normal abilities. It would be pitch black and no one will know what time or day it is. The moon has a gravitational pull and controls the waters. The gravitational pull will be gone when the sun no longer gives its light. The oceans will begin to rise which will cause world wide flooding. Your homes and possessions will be destroyed and a new way of life will have to take place in order to survive.

Recap: We have no sunlight and the moon looks like blood. Life all around us is dying and the earth is unstable. The nations are in distress (anguish) looking for ways to cope with what is happening on the earth. The changes on the earth and in the skies will make climate change a thing of the past. People will be anxious and consumed with an enormous amount of fear. The land is unstable and the seas are roaring like a hurricane.

 Remember we are just in the beginning of the 6th seal. Next we have the stars falling in the midst of all this taking place.

Revelation 6:13 says “And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind“. In the Old Testament the prophets describe an event just like this.

Isaiah 34:4 KJV 4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Mark 13:24 KJV 24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

Stars Falling Like Figs

The stars are falling like figs falling off a fig tree. These stars will be hot and when they hit the ground it will cause an explosion. Homes, business, land and everything will catch on fire. Man will not be able to stop the stars in heaven from falling to the earth. If the star is great in size there will be tsunamis rolling across the seas to land.

Recap: People are frantic and chaos has begun. The ground is cracked, the sunlight is gone and the moon is like blood. If this is not enough to deal with, you see bright lights in the sky heading your way and as they get closer you realize it is going to hit the earth.

We are not sure if the seals take place systematically (for scripture does not say) or they will be spread out. What we do know, is the destruction keeps happening. And now we come to something we have never seen. The sky will roll up.

Picture a scroll that has split into from aging and over use. With it split, the 2 parts roll up on their own. Can you even imagine the sky rolling up?

The scripture says “every mountain and island were moved out of their places”. Yes, every mountain and island. You are in survival mode, scarred and fearful of the events surrounding you. Underneath your feet the ground begins to move. Where are you going to go? Well, for those who are experiencing and watching this happen, they will have an explanation.

Revelation 6:15-17 KJV  15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

This is mind blowing and more is coming. Revelation 6 says “they ask the mountains and rocks to fall on them. Will you escape the wrath of God?

If Left Behind Can You Escape These Events?

Who is going to escape God’s wrath? No one. Who will stand against the day of God’s wrath? No one. The people are not crying out for mercy from a repentant heart. What are they crying out for? To have the rocks fall on them. They would rather die than face God.

From the time of the tribulation through the great tribulation there will be suffering none of us are able to imagine. Is there still hope for me?

How Do I Escape The Great Day of God’s Wrath?

The only way to escape eternal judgment is through faith in the name of the Son of God (John 20:31). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

Jesus being the only way to heaven has always been an offense against our pride. We can not boast about our salvation.

This can only come from:

Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
