Matthew 5:14-16 KJV “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Leaning On The Wrong Side
I watched a video recently about someone telling how his life had been changed by new and different information. He was a prominent professional in his field. Also, he taught others what he held as true information. But he reached a point to where he questioned what he believed because it did not help him or others. It was brought to his attention he was not addressing the root problem. This caused the solution to be no solution. Of course this is the short version. I am telling this because I kept thinking the world uses solutions that do not address our core problems. Human wisdom has not stopped the suffering or grief of this world.
The Light Of The World Shined On Our Darkness
What is the core problem? Sin. You and I believed our problems were created from the outside until the Light of the world, Jesus Christ, shined His light into our darkness. Now we are to be a reflection of His light in the kingdom of darkness.
Matthew 5:10-12 KJV Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Jesus warns us not everyone will want their sin exposed. Many Christians today know first hand the persecution faith in Christ brings. The kingdom of darkness seeks to do them harm constantly. This attitude toward believers has spread into every nation. Why? Because Jesus says, living a godly life in a hostile environment brings war.
As the darkness increases, pray for one another to boldly proclaim the gospel of Truth.
Proclaim The Truth and Be a Light Unto This World
Ephesians 6:18-20 KJV Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Philippians 1:21-24 KJV For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
Stay in God’s word. Learn Who you believe in. And cause your heart and mind to stay on Christ Who is in heaven. So we can say, I will stay as long as God wills but I would rather be in the presence of my living Lord God.
To be lights in the world is what Jesus taught us to be. The world does not recognize it because it hates Jesus.
We will be hated too,but the light always prevails and it will so even in the end. Stay close to the light so the road
will be clearer when darkness comes over it. May God’s peace be with you.
Thank you. We all need a word of encouragement. Finishing the race.
God bless you and yours,
Sherri
