The Beginning Of a Lawless World, Persecution On The Rise

Home / Daily Biblical News / The Beginning Of a Lawless World, Persecution On The Rise

The bible describes what society will be like before the return of Christ Jesus. The picture drawn by the bible is not a pretty one but it is the true one. The bible says,

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Society will continue on this downward spiral.

Though Jesus spoke of events that will happen before His return, we will look at verses that are about societies attitude as His return approaches.

In Romans 1:18-23, God tells us that when people no longer worship God as the Creator society comes apart. In Romans 1:24-28, God finally gives them over to a “worthless mind to do what is morally wrong.” Then in verses (Romans 1:29-32) the attitudes of the people are described.

The same is true for 2 Timothy 3:1-4, where the attitudes of ungodly people and false Christians are given. Why is this important? Let’s see:

2 Timothy 3:1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

It is attitudes that are leading to the persecution of Christians and is causing a rise in anger and violence in society in general. China, India, and others have stepped up their aggression against the spreading of the message of Jesus Christ.

God has warned believers of the attitudes they will encounter. Now let’s take a closer look.

They say: I don’t need a Savior because I don’t need saving because there is no sin, no hell, and no God or my self righteous works are enough. This is where everything clashes.

Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

God says: We will die in our sins if we do not believe in Who Jesus is. The unbeliever says,

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

They say: God killing His Son and some man dying for the sins of the world, come on what a bunch of foolishness. What is God saying,

1. foolish-3472-moria-absurdity (Strong’s Concordance)
2. 3472-comes from-3474-moros (the root of the English terms, “moron, moronic”). by BibleHub

Them: The attitude of unbelievers toward God, His Son, His Word, and believers is; God and all who fall for His lies is a moron.

God: Gets interesting now because in

1 Corinthians 1:20-25 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

God gives us His viewpoint and attitude toward unbelievers. He does this by asking questions, Where are the learned, where is the man of religious learning, and where is the one who argues to look important? God answers His questions, I have made the world’s system of intelligence and philosophy to be moronic. In other words they are no where because man does not have the wisdom to understand the cross of Christ.

And there you have it, the reason believers and unbelievers have nothing in common.

Unbelievers think Christians are stupid and weak and God says the ways and thoughts of unbelievers, which are worldly ways, is stupid and leads to eternal destruction. This is the war, and the rift will grow further apart and become more violent. However, believers know this is a spiritual war.

As bad as it seems it will get worse in what is called The Tribulation. During that time,

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

At this time things will be so violent and destructive, people will faint. Their fear will overcome them and as they see what is coming they will pass out. This kind of violence upon people and the earth has never happened and will never happen again.

As a believer what is happening to children, elderly, and the helpless is very hard to take sometimes. Pray to be lead to the lost to tell them an absurd message about the cross of which I am not ashamed. There are hearts prepared to hear, pray your heart is prepared for Christ’s use to give His good news.

My hope is in Christ Jesus as the world consistently lines up with God’s word, because we know what is coming. Persecution must come are you ready? Jesus, Lord and Savior will come, are you ready?
