Galatians 4:5 KJV To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
There are many who feel like orphans. For whatever reason the parental role was not filled. This happens now more than ever because at least half of all children born, are born to parents who are not married and usually no longer get along and divorce has been rampant for years. Each year as Mother’s day, Father’s day, birthdays, holidays, etc. rolls around so many dread it for so many different reasons. Of course, we can’t forget Satan who is busy destroying the family as God ordained through those who do his bidding which is to kill, steal, and destroy. If we allow Satan he will remind us constantly of all we didn’t and/or don’t have when it comes to parents. This is why I love scripture where God says, yeah, but I. Galatians 4:5-7 is one of those buts God wants us to believe in.
Galatians 3:26 KJV For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Through our faith in Christ Jesus we were not only saved, justified, being sanctified, and are on our way to being glorified, we were adopted by God and became one of His children. This means God has not left us as orphans and we are not alone (John 14:18). God, the Creator of all things, is our heavenly Father through Christ Jesus (Issiah 9:6-7). The Holy Spirit puts a cry in our heart that cries out, I want to know you, as Father. I want to know Your kindness, gentleness, mercy, and grace (Psalm 103). I want to know what it is like to feel secure and safe. I want to know what it is like to know I will be helped in my time of need (Hebrews 4:16). I want to know I have someone I can go to who has all wisdom and will give it without criticism (James 1:5-8). There is only one way to know these things.
John 10:28 KJV And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
John 14:9 KJV Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
The way to know God the Father is by knowing Jesus as the Son of God. When our eyes and heart were opened to salvation we were given the ability to know God the Father through Jesus Christ. The next time you are having a pity party because your parent or parents don’t care about you or for you, read what the love of God did for you.
Isaiah 52:14 KJV Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;
In plain english this means, Jesus was beaten until He no longer looked human. Read Isaiah 52:14 – 53:12 until you see and know in your heart how much God loves you.
