1 Corinthians 1:17 KJV For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Do not be afraid to speak God’s Word
Speaking the word of God is such an enormous gift and comes with great responsibilities. And yet, it is joy you receive speaking words of life which fulfills the heart! Speaking God’s word was not always a simple task for me.
My Story: I began bible studies in my home but then it quickly moved to churches teaching in study groups. One day, the pastor of the church, we were attending, was having a speaking conference with several speakers talking about the word of God. Little did I know I was going to be one of them. The pastor did ask me to be apart of this conference. I had a choice to make. I prayed and asked for God’s guidance but my emotions and heart were talking louder than what I was hearing. It was time and all the preparation was about to become a reality.
Then came the realization that God wants me to speak and teach His word. Who was I? In my view, the congregation had rocket scientist, philosophers, English majors and highly educated people. It seemed like I was swimming in a tank full of sharks! What do I know, I asked myself? God, in all His humor, kept pushing me. On that day I had no idea He was preparing me for something bigger. That day changed me and brought me closer to the Lord.
That was many years ago. Since then, God has provided us a ministry where we can share His word to the world. The sharing of the true gospel is diminishing but there are those like us who want to share the whole word of God and His Truth. The church today speaks foolishness and has fully embraced that the cross is foolishness and sin is acceptable.
Do Not Be Afraid To Speak God’s Word
Do not be afraid to speak God’s word during this time where emotions are guiding people’s lives. We live in a time where society as a whole has turned against God and His Son. This kind of stand is now going global. God haters are growing everywhere. Persecution of believers is ever increasing around the world. They do not accept Jesus and Him crucified as the absolute Truth.
There was a video we watched on evolution vs. creationist. Within this video the evolution side had written words on a chalk board. This is what it said (time 56:34):
- Let’s not believe Revelation
- Do not believe Authority believe man’s word, the facts
- Don’t trust tradition, aka history
- Trust evidence, no evidence that God exist
Question: What does all of this have to do with Evolution, that is suppose to be based on science?
What Does This Lead To
All these teachings (evolution, tolerance, embracing sodomy, killing innocent babies, monitoring our every move, telling us how we feel, what we need to buy etc.) is just an outpouring of evil racing against time. What time? The time when Satan will be defeated forever. He knows his time is shorter now than ever for the return of Christ. The signs are in the pages of scripture.
Genesis 6:5-7, 11-12 describe a society that is functioning without God. Romans 1 tells us step by step what happens to a person, community, and nation that turns from God. Genesis 6 and Romans 1 are the description of a society that God has turned over to themselves. What we find in these scriptures is the depth of the defilement of the human heart. It is a heart that will not tolerate God, Christ, or believers. Evil, sexual immorality, and violence is what the human heart craves.
Matthew 24:37 KJV But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Days Of Noah To The Time Of Now
Jesus is giving us a way to discern the times we live in. He compares people before His return to the people in Noah’s day. What are the comparisons?
- Noah telling them about the flood. (this would be Revelation)
- No one believed there would be a flood. (this would be Authority, man’s word)
- They do not believe in judgment (this would be Tradition, aka history)
- They did not believe there was a God (this would be Evidence, no existence of God)
This gave people the freedom, so they thought, to engage in total depravity of every kind the heart could think of continually. God brought judgment when violence filled the earth (Genesis 6:11). This kind of behavior still exist and God has not changed.
2 Peter 2:5 tells us Noah preached righteousness all the years it took to built the ark, about 120 years. How many people got into the ark, 8.
I encourage you to recognize the time in which we live. Do not be afraid or discouraged. God is not surprised and trying to figure out how to deal with this. God planned for this time and we are privileged to live in it. Draw close to God, shine your light, speak His foolish gospel, because there are still hearts that are hungry and thirsty for Truth.
