Sam Coonrod Chose Jesus Christ and Did Not Bow Before Man

Home / Daily Biblical News / Sam Coonrod Chose Jesus Christ and Did Not Bow Before Man

Sam Coonrod chose Jesus Christ by not bowing but standing. His action gives us a good visual of the narrow path and the wide path.

Matthew 7:13-14 KJV 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

There are many paths that can take you away from God. They look good on the outside, it might seem like the right thing to do, however it is not. And kneeling to man should be one of those paths you stay clear from. In the bible we have three people that give us a great example of what to do when someone thinks they are higher than God Almighty.

King Nebuchadnezzar Requires Everyone To Bow and Worship

Daniel 3 tells us King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue of himself and everyone was to bow and worship it. While the whole nation bowed, 3 young men remained standing.

Just like the 3 men, Sam Coonrod did not kneel down.

“I meant no ill will by it,” Coonrod said. “I don’t think I’m better than anybody. I’m just a Christian. I believe I can’t kneel before anything but God, Jesus Christ. I chose not to kneel. I feel if I did kneel I’d be a hypocrite. I don’t want to be a hypocrite.” mercurynews.com

The 3 men in Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stuck out like a sore thumb. They also had a decision to make in that moment of time. What happened to them? Well you can read more about these 3 men in Daniel.

Believers do not kneel or bow to anyone but their God.

2 Kings 17:35-36 KJV 35 With whom the Lord had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them: 36 But the Lord, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

Worshipping Idols and Man, Where Will This Lead?

This is preparing everyone to worship the one world ruler described in Revelation. We don’t know when he will come but the signs show his time is coming. Look around you and see what is happening.

Revelation 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

Who is the beast? The one whom Satan gives his power. He is called the Antichrist. Except this time you will either bow down to him or die, Revelation 20:4! There will be no escaping death when you stand for Christ Jesus during the Tribulation.

Who Do You Worship and Bow Down To?

Whom do you fear? Are you a professing Christian and yet bowing to societies demands?

Matthew 10:28 KJV And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Sam Coonrod chose Jesus Christ. His conscience would not allow him to worship another. We each have a choice to make of whom we shall serve this day, Joshua 24:15. Jesus is coming. When He comes will you be the one standing or whom will He find you bowing down to?

  1. What an amazing image. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. You cannot mistake this image of one person standing, while the others take a knee. Did they really change anything by taking a knee. God sees everything.
