Praising God For The Blessed Road

Psalm 18:1-2 KJV 1 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. 2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

David wrote this at the age of 70 so he is writing in retrospect of all God had done for him and who God showed Himself to be.

I don’t know where you are on your journey of walking on the narrow path, but like David, enemies are always coming against us.

  • We have the enemy of hate because we refuse to be conformed to the ways of culture and society.
  • The enemy of the religious because we trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross alone for our salvation.
  • The enemy of it is costing to much because we believe Jesus when He says the life of a believer is filled with trials, tests, sorrow, and suffering.

Psalm 18:30-31 KJV 30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. 31 For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?

God’s ways are perfect and His word is truth. We rejoice in the mercy of God. We love God because He put His love in us. The only thing we have to offer to God is our sin. Every good thing we have received is from God and therefore every good thing we give to God is merely us returning to Him what He gave us.

Praise God that your heart loves Him, His word, His Son, and His commands. Praise God you diligently seek Him and desire to obey Him in order to show your love toward Him. It is God who has given every believer the desire or will to please Him.

Pleasing God does not always lead us down an easy and comfortable path. Pleasing God and staying true to Him cost many people their life, their family, their job, etc. But as we are lead down the narrow path let us remember the Rock on which we stand, Jesus. That through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we have been given every spiritual blessing in heaven. We have an inheritance that is eternal and no one can steal from us.

Let us praise God Who is our strength, deliverer, savior, hiding place, and loves beyond our knowledge. Praise God that one day all the injustice will be brought to justice. Remember those days when you were building your house on sinking sand your life was absent of true peace and joy.

Never forget who you are without Christ. Never forget where you came from be it a life of outward sins or a life of inward hidden sins. Both of which are on the broad path heading toward hell. Praise God for His rich and deep love for you while you were His enemy. Remember, so you will love others as Jesus loved you and forgave you.

Matthew 6:14-15 KJV 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
