Living in Dark Times – Word of Encouragement

Light Of Christ Shines Through The Darkness Of Today

Psalm 40:12 For evils without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, so that I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart has failed within me. 13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me; hurry, O LORD, to help me.

Life in the Dark – Emotions are High

Ever feel no one understands your pain? Fear is where you live. Anger is your first emotion. Or are you tired because life comes at you non-stop. You look at yourself and your life and you see an unmanageable mess with no way out. And every sinful choice leads to another sinful choice. Now the hole is to deep and to dirty.

Life may look good and respectful to others. But now the lie is to heavy to carry. Where does one go when seeking the way out of the mess?

Finding the Solution Out of the Mess

I can only tell you what I did. I started off reading many self-help books. Would listen to people who claimed to have the answers I needed. All of that is worldly knowledge trying to fix worldly problems that were created by worldly knowledge. I finally ask, why is it no matter what I do nothing truly changes? It wasn’t until I realized the destructive decisions were coming from inside of me, that I began to seek the truth (Mark 7:21-23).

It was a long and difficult journey. When God calls us to His Son, He completely disrupts our lives so deeply and profoundly, we feel like we are losingaffliction-suffering-sad everything including our mind. Salvation is a hard road. It is supernatural and a gift from God but it contains much difficulty (Matthew 7:13-14). There is nothing easy about surrendering your entire life, walking by faith, and living a godly lifestyle.

But if like me, you are trying to clean yourself up and nothing really changes, cry out to Jesus. He will answer you. Jesus already knows your darkest secrets and He will come anyway (John 6:37).

Repentance and Faith Lead the Way

Repentance and faith in the Son of God is the way out of your mess. Salvation is for anyone who comes to Jesus asking, seeking, and knocking (Mark 7:6-8). Is God worthy of my love and obedience? Absolutely.

1-john-1_6-we-sayI encourage believers to remember where and what you were when Father God called you out of your mess to His Son. Which lead to the work of the Holy Spirit convicting and convincing you of your sinful nature while hovering over your ocean of darkness. The joy and hope salvation brought to the heart filled with hopelessness.

Believers we have all been given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). We have the way out of the mess and the darkness.

Our life is still riddled with difficulties but we live with our eyes and mind on the eternal inheritance waiting for us in heaven.

1 Peter 1:3-5 NASB1995 1 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

I encourage you to shine your light to someone you once were, a sinner with no God and no hope.
