Lebonan's New President Is On The Hunt To Destroy Israel
Lebanon's new pro-Hezbollah president vows to retake 'Israeli-occupied' land
The Lebanese parliament elected former army commander and Hezbollah ally Michel Aoun as president on Monday, ending a 29-month presidential vacuum as part of a political deal that is expected to make Sunni leader Saad al-Hariri prime minister. Aoun, who is in his 80s, secured the presidency by winning the support of at least 65 MPs, or an absolute majority of the members of the 128-seat chamber, according to a Reuters tally of votes read out in a televised broadcast from parliament. The Lebanese presidency is reserved for a Maronite Christian in the country's sectarian power-sharing system. In 2006, Aoun signed a formal agreement of alliance between his Free Patriotic Movement and Hezbollah, and has consistently backed the Shi’ite group ever since...... [read more]
Lebanon has elected a leader that has the goal of destroying Israel. He is backed by Hezbollah, who is backed by Iran. Lebanon has said nothing about Syria or Syria's president Assad. Hezbollah is fighting to keep Assad in power as is Russia and Iran.
What is Lebanon's biblical future?
In Psalm 83:4 we see Israel's enemies saying, "Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.”
"In remarks made after the election aimed at Hezbollah backers, Aoun vowed to "release what is left of our lands from the Israeli occupation," referring to contested territories along the border with the Jewish state."
The new President of Lebanon is wanting to take Israel's land.
Psalm 83:7 Byblos, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre.
In Psalm it lists the names of Byblos and Tyre.
These are both cities in Lebanon today. Lebanon is also home to Hezbollah. The hatred for Israel and the Jews has not changed or dimished since this Psalm was written. Lebanon will engage in war against Israel.
How God deal's with Lebanon?
In Joshua 19 it tells us that Lebanon belonged to the tribe of Asher. This means Lebanon is part of the land God gave to Israel.
Joshua 19:21 Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, Beth-pazzez. 22 The boundary also touches Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh, and its boundary ends at the Jordan—sixteen cities with their villages. 23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Issachar, according to their clans—the cities with their villages. The Inheritance for Asher 24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the people of Asher according to their clans. 25 Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph, 26 Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. On the west it touches Carmel and Shihor-libnath, 27 then it turns eastward, it goes to Beth-dagon, and touches Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtahel northward to Beth-emek and Neiel. Then it continues in the north to Cabul, 28 Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, Kanah, as far as Sidon the Great. 29 Then the boundary turns to Ramah, reaching to the fortified city of Tyre. Then the boundary turns to Hosah, and it ends at the sea; Mahalab, Achzib, 30 Ummah, Aphek and Rehob—twenty-two cities with their villages. 31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Asher according to their clans—these cities with their villages. The Inheritance for Naphtali 32 The sixth lot came out for the people of Naphtali, for the people of Naphtali, according to their clans. 33 And their boundary ran from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami-nekeb, and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, and it ended at the Jordan. 34 Then the boundary turns westward to Aznoth-tabor and goes from there to Hukkok, touching Zebulun at the south and Asher on the west and Judah on the east at the Jordan.
In Zechariah this tells us that God will bring back His people to their land and this will include Lebanon.
Zechariah 10:9 Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me, and with their children they shall live and return. 10 I will bring them home from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria, and I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon, till there is no room for them. 11 He shall pass through the sea of troubles and strike down the waves of the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up. The pride of Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.
In Zechariah God will bring His judgment against Lebanon and it will be destroyed.
Zechariah 11:1 Open your doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour your cedars! 2 Wail, O cypress, for the cedar has fallen, for the glorious trees are ruined! Wail, oaks of Bashan, for the thick forest has been felled! 3 The sound of the wail of the shepherds, for their glory is ruined! The sound of the roar of the lions, for the thicket of the Jordan is ruined!
"The section ends with a taunt-song against Israel's enemies, Lebanon and Bashan in particular. The pride of these two, the cedars of Lebanon and the oaks of Bashan, is to be destroyed..... The two means of destruction of trees, fire, and axe are irresistibe as God prepares the way for the return of his people." ( IBC by F. F. Bruce on Zechariah 11)
The new leader of Lebanon is Shi'ite as is Iran. Each step taken will bring Lebanon closer to fulfilling bible prophecy.
Will Lebanon turn to God
Isaiah 60:13 The glory of Lebanon shall come to you the cypress, the plane, and the pine, to beautify the place of my sanctuary, and I will make the place of my feet glorious.
Yes Lebanon (people) will turn to God. As you can read Lebanon will first face judgement but in the end God will restore them (people) and the cypress wood will be used as part of building the Lord's house.
Israel is completely restored and all nations will come to her.
