Psalm 97:10 KJV Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
World Embracing Ungodly People
It is difficult to watch societies around the globe embracing all kinds of godlessness. Sin destroys and kills everything it touches. Pride equals rebellion to God and it brings the downfall of nations down to individuals every time. Turning from God sets pride loose. Then all the sins in the heart of people come into play.
All morals die and behavior that rejects God’s order of things takes place. Restraint and self-discipline are rejected which opens the flood gates to indulging in lawlessness. People engage in filthy conversations and all forms of indecent sexual activities. What was once unacceptable has become acceptable. We live in the days when evil is called good and good is called evil.
Noah And Lot Warned About Ungodliness
Noah and Lot tried to warn the people that God sends judgment. But no one took them seriously. And today the same warning signs are being ignored by those who teach the Truth. As evil encroaches into our daily personal life, we each will decide how this will effect us. It too effected Noah and Lot as they lived among those who spoke and lived out sinful lives (2 Peter 2:7-8).
God describes the people during Noah’s time as wicked. The objective of every thought was on evil. Eventually violence covered the whole earth (Genesis 6).
What Does The Bible Say About The Ungodly
How are we to live as the word of God unfolds before our very eyes?
Revelation 22:10-17 KJV And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
The Gospel Brings Two Responses
We are to share the true gospel of Christ, knowing the true gospel brings 2 responses, rejection or acceptance.
Rejection
When someone hears the true gospel and rejects it, their heart hardens and they become callous to sin. They are God’s enemy and live under God’s curse. They will die in their sin and reap the wages of sin, eternal death.
Acceptance
For those who accept the true gospel they are justified before God and no longer His enemy. They begin their journey on the narrow path of obedience headed toward eternal life in heaven.
Believers Are Longing For Their Savior
Believers live with the expectation that Jesus will come at any time for His church. In the meantime, we are to read and study His whole written word including the book of Revelation. Why?
Because when we know Jesus will come quickly we pursue righteousness and obedience to Him and His word. The birth pains in the last days are speeding up. With this sense of urgency we warn sinners about eternal hell and the coming Tribulation.
While we offer the invitation to come to Christ, we also pray for Christ to come and get us.
It remains difficult to watch people choose hell as their eternal destiny. But we remind ourselves daily God remains in control. And all His word will come to pass.
Pray the light of Christ be a saving beacon to “whomsoever will” come.
