EFCA Teaching Broken Scripture

Home / Daily Biblical News / EFCA Teaching Broken Scripture

The church is growing colder by the minute instead by the hour. An article titled: “EFCA Now Considers Premillennialism a Non-Essential” states “Many of the 350,000 people who belong to EFCA churches still believe Jesus will return to earth to reign as king for 1,000 years, but the denomination no longer considers that doctrine essential to the gospel.” Churches as a whole no longer teach the whole word of God. Man has decided they know better than and more than God but if you are not following God’s Word in whole then you have a skewed view of God and that is very dangerous. To wrongly divide God’s word leads to a wrong relationship with God. Eternal life is to know the only true living God and His Son and the only way to do that is to read the bible from Genesis to Revelation over and over. EFCA is not the only church teaching luke warm and feel good sermons out there. Most of those who call themselves church are on the broad path and have left the narrow path of true doctrinal verse by verse teaching.

What if my church won’t teach the bible? From the web site Verse By Verse Ministry we liked what they had to say by answering this question. A person stated “After listening to your Bible studies, I now understand the importance of attending a church that teaches the whole counsel of God’s word. Unfortunately, my church has changed over the years from teaching the Bible, to just entertaining people with spiritual junk food. After learning so much from your ministry, I decided to approach my pastor asking him to return to in-depth teaching. He started yelling at me, accusing me of challenging his authority. He refused to even consider what I had to say. I don’t know what to do now. Should I leave my church or work to improve it?… read their responseby Verse by Verse Ministry

2 Timothy 1-4 tells us the church will turn from sound biblical doctrine. This church has done this. The church today relies on human emotion instead of biblical doctrine. The church of today relies on human goodness and their good works instead of the true gospel of God. We are witnessing the fact that there is a false church alive and well. Most churches are not balanced or grounded in biblical truth.

When doctrine is thrown out and replaced by teaching that picks and chooses certain verses to get the person’s opinion across instead of book by book and verse by verse you have built on a foundation of sand.

However, God is not caught off guard and Jesus is not pacing back and forth wondering how to handle this. We know this because we are reading this warning written to Timothy for his day and yet applies now. God has already chosen how He will deal with this, read Revelation, it is ourselves that will decide what we will do.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 tells us about the humanistic, emotional, human philosophy church. They go to church, have the appearance they are real, but on the inside there is opposition to God. In Revelation chapters 2-3 Jesus had John write letters to His church and at the end of each one He says, “he that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the church.”

Do you know what spirit you are listening to? Do you listen but don’t really hear because your all caught up in how you feel? Do you see but don’t really look because the truth might interfere with your thoughts?  John tells us in 1 John 2:19, when someone leaves God and enters the world, they were never a believer to start with and their walking away is the manifestation of their heart.

Having said that, it is God who sees the inner most being of someone, not us. What we do is discern by their fruit.

Breakdown What You Do Know

I know that if someone is a sheep of Christ they will be called, they will hear their Saviors voice, and Christ will be their Good Shepherd forever (John 10). I know there is no where to go to get away from the loving conviction and chastisement of God for the purpose of bringing one to true repentance and true saving faith in the name of Jesus the Messiah (Psalm 139).

I know there is no unity between the truly saved and those who are not. Peace and unity are not the same thing. God can give us peace with those who hate our beliefs and lifestyle (Proverbs 16:7) but that is not unity.

2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

There is no unity between Christianity and any other religion. There is no unity between believers and unbelievers. Why? What does God’s goodness and evil have in common? How can those who live in the light share a common goal with those who live in darkness? God is asking you, how can there be agreement between Christ and the devil (John 14:30)? We all know the only way to have unity with someone is to walk away from where you stand and sit where the other is (Psalm 1). The dominate one will lead and the weak one will follow.

Pray for these people. Pray for the church and the leaders to come to repentance and submission to Jesus as Lord and Savior. Pray for strength and courage to stand and not compromise. Pray for discernment as the evil of mankind grows worse and worse. Pray for those who are dying and being tortured right now for refusing to turn from their faith in their loving Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
