Does Jesus Know You

Acts 11:26 KJV And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

There are many who define what it is to be a Christian but unless their definition matches Christ’s it carries no weight in heaven. If your Christianity does not meet the requirements of God you will hear, “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23, Luke 13:27). Everyone in hell is someone Jesus did not know. They may have known about Jesus and declared that but it did not make them known to Jesus Christ.

before we get into this let’s understand the word know. It is not know as in I don’t know you exist. God is the Creator of all and knows the thoughts and heart of all people (Matthew 9:4, John 21:23-25). What this word means is, you are not in a personal close relationship with me which is only entered into through faith in the name of the Son of God followed by obeying God’s commands.

Who Are The Unknown

Matthew 7:21 KJV Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work

In these verses Jesus states clearly who will not go to heaven. He starts with “not everyone” which blows a hole in the “all roads lead to heaven” or “everyone goes to heaven” thinking. The deception of the unknown,

1. Saying Jesus is your Lord does not make it so.

2. Works do not get you into heaven. Entrance into heaven is gained one way, we must be born again (John 3:3).

3. You deceive yourself into believing you served God and obeyed His laws but Jesus calls you a lawbreaker.

In James 2:10 we are told break one law and you have broken them all. Romans 3 says all have sinned, broken God’s law. This is why you can not earn your way to heaven.

Simply put it doesn’t matter what you or I think about this or what anyone teaches on this subject, if it is apart from the whole word of God it is useless to you.

What Is The Habitual Character of the Unknowns

The lifestyle of the unrighteous is marked by sin. 1 John 2:15-16 tell us

1) you love this world, God’s love is not in you and
2) what the world offers is not of God

The world promotes sexual sin of all kinds, wanting more than you need, wanting what others have, filthy language, thoughts, and actions, talking about nothing, loving self first, and so on. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Ephesians 5:3-5 tell us who will not inherit the kingdom of Christ and God. Everyday you will choose where your love and loyalty lies.

What Does This All Mean

To be close to someone in reality and not mere words, you must have the same interests, values, and goals in life. To try and be close to someone who views life differently than you will result in compromise and Jesus will never compromise His holiness. I at one time lived in the compromise of sin but no longer.

The world, Satan, and your flesh want you to lighten up, chill out, believe this one time won’t hurt, you can trust me, and all the other sayings to get you to move away from God and toward sin.

Professing Christian who do you love?
Who do you live for? Who do you fear?
Whose acceptance do you need?

Luke 12:5 KJV But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Yes God is love but there is more to Him and it is to our benefit to make sure He knows us.

2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV For godly grief produces a repentance not to be regretted and leading to salvation, but worldly grief produces death.

Are you sorry because of the consequences or did you repent and turn to God?
