The days of Sodom and Gomorrah are making a come back. As we watch history repeat itself most have no idea the significance of the homosexual movement. In scripture the calling of evil good and good evil says.  Isaiah 5:20 KJV 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!) will gain strength from here but very few know why. It is because society as a whole is increasing in their indifference to God.

What makes the LGBT movement important? It is fulfilling prophecy concerning events that will occur before the second coming of Christ. This movement is not new but is a repeat of Sodom and Gomorrah. The difference being, this time, God will destroy the earth with fire . There will be a new heaven and earth, and Christ will reign from Jerusalem. The gay agenda is being pushed everywhere and it has a significant purpose.

Sign Of Christ’s Second Coming

The events in the middle east, the gay movement, the aligning of certain countries, and the world getting ready for war. These are but a few of the signs told in scripture that proceed the second coming of Christ.

Luke 17:28 KJV Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

The time close to Christs return will resemble the days of Lot.

Sodom and Gomorrah

Genesis 18:20 KJV And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

The sin committed in these cities and the surrounding cities was crying out to God in heaven. The outcry was for justice toward their sin. Society today is indifferent to sin.

Question: “What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah?”

…..In light of the passage, the most common response to the question “What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah?” is that it was homosexuality. That is how the term “sodomy” came to be used to refer to anal sex between two men, whether consensual or forced. Clearly, homosexuality was part of why God destroyed the two cities. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to perform homosexual gang rape on the two angels (who were disguised as men). At the same time, it is not biblical to say that homosexuality was the exclusive reason why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were definitely not exclusive in terms of the sins in which they indulged. Ezekiel 16:49-50 declares, “Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me…” The Hebrew word translated “detestable” refers to something that is morally disgusting and is the exact same word used in Leviticus 18:22 that refers to homosexuality as an “abomination.” Similarly, Jude 7 declares, “…Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion.” So, again, while homosexuality was not the only sin in which the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah indulged, it does appear to be the primary reason for the destruction of the cities…. read full post

The Sin They Committed

Genesis 19:4 KJV But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.

8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof…… 9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

God Sends Two Angels

God sent two angels to check out what was going on in Sodom. When they arrived Lot greeted them and took them to his house. All the men went to Lots house to insist the two angels have sex with them. Lot said no, that is wicked and they were offended because Lot judged them.

Sound familiar, it should. It should also bring reverential fear toward God Who destroyed Sodom, Gomorrah and surrounding cities with hail and brimstone. Lot and his family were the only ones given a way to escape.

Has God Changed His View on Sin?

2 Peter 2:6 KJV And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Jude 1:7 KJV Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

No, God has not changed His mind about sin. Sodom and Gomorrah serve as a warning that the punishment of sin is eternal fire, hell.

How is History Repeating

In Judges 2 we are told God’s chosen people turned their back on God and began to serve pagan idols. The generation that had witnessed the power and authority of God all died and the generation after them…

Judges 2:11 KJV And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim: 12 And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger. 13 And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

The next generation worshipped the pagan gods Baal and Ashtoreths. They built temples to worship them. The worship of these idols included prostitution both male and female, men with men, women with women, men and women, and orgies. The worship was based on sensual immorality.

We are living in the day of the generation who knows not the Lord. This generation does what is right in their own eyes.

Is all Lost

In Genesis 18 the Lord told Abraham what He was going to do. Abraham ask the Lord will you spare them if there are 50 righteous people. He kept asking this same question until he was down to ten righteous people. The Lord replied…

Genesis 18:32 KJV And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.

Abraham Thinks Of Others

Abraham did not think of himself or Lot but those who were going to perish under judgment. Judgment is coming upon the earth. The wrath of Christ will be poured out. Until that time there is hope to come from under the wrath of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9 KJV Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

There are many sins but there is hope of forgiveness from the guilt, weight, and shame that is carried through sinning. As you read the verses above you see a description of those who make up the church. The church is repentant sinners whom Jesus Christ cleansed with His blood, makes them in right standing with God through His righteousness, and brings them out from God’s wrath and into peace. The cross, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ met all of God the Father’s justice toward sin. Let Jesus Christ make your crooked path straight.
