The coronavirus is now seen as a “global pandemic.” And yet, the world has not skipped a beat when it comes to pushing godless agendas and persecuting Christians, 1 Peter 3:15-17.
Our world is in a mess. Current events are redefining our normal. The coronavirus is in a long line of things creating a new normal.
Emotions Are Raging?
This has made fear and anger the emotion of our time. However, this is a great tilling tool to prepare hearts to hear about our living hope, Jesus Christ. What is to be the believers response?
Romans 8:14 KJV For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
The Coronavirus Is a Wake-up Call
We go along thinking all will stay as it has always been. Then a reality check comes into our life. Right now the whole world is facing a reality check. Believers are to respond differently than the world. Why? Because we know God has set His throne in the highest heavens and He rules over all (Psalm 103:19).
Through faith in Christ Jesus we are adopted into the family of God. This adoption causes us to obtain an inheritance. As a part of God’s family, we are a joint-heir with Christ and His suffering here. But we also have a spiritual inheritance in heaven waiting for us. An inheritance that no eye has seen, ear has heard, or our mind can imagine ( 2 Corinthians 2:9).
No one enjoys suffering. Yet, believers who stay focused on their Lord and Savior will have an inexplainable joy.
Romans 5:1 KJV Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Why Do Believers Rejoice?
Why do believers rejoice when they suffer in Christ? Because, unlike the world, we know suffering produces godly fruit in our hearts. In return this shows up in our character which dictates our actions.
The leaders of this world are using this crisis to move their One World Order along. The people of this world need us to exhibit the peace, joy, hope, and love of the God we proclaim.
During these times of trouble and fear, share the love of Christ.
