What is the Bible Belt
Question: “What is the Bible Belt?”
Answer: The Bible Belt is an informal expression used to refer to a region in the Southeastern and South-Central United States. This area is known as more theologically evangelical and socially conservative than the rest of the United States. States comprising the Bible Belt are Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Some lists also include Missouri, West Virginia, and Virginia in the Bible Belt.
The term Bible Belt uses the word belt in its meaning of “an area characterized by a distinctive feature.” For example, the Corn Belt is a region in the Midwest that produces a lot of corn; the asteroid belt is a swath of interplanetary space between Mars and Jupiter where millions of asteroids orbit. The term Bible Belt was made popular by journalist H. L. Mencken, who wrote in the Chicago Tribune in 1924, “The old game, I suspect, is beginning to play out in the Bible Belt.” Mencken used the term in a derogatory way when reporting on the Scopes Monkey Trial for the Baltimore Sun. He often spoke out against religious belief, especially Christianity… read more at GotQuestions.com/Bible-Belt.html
The world watches as God reveals to the world the depth of corruption in America. There is little understanding of how we can be so willing to give up our freedoms. How we blindly keep moving away from being the nation of freedom and opportunity and continue to move toward bondage. And we just can’t wait to become like every other communist, third world, ungodly nation.
God said this day would come thousands of years ago (2 Timothy 3:1-8). President Trump stayed in office his full term because God wanted him there. Will he be President another term, we pray so. However, scripture tells us the Anti-christ, evil, will rule for 7 years during the tribulation. So it is not a question of if evil will rule but when will that be.
Bible Belt States of Georgia, Tennessee Elect Their First Homosexuals, Including Lesbian Priest, to State Legislatures
In the article it says “Voters in the Bible Belt states of Georgia and Tennessee elected the first openly homosexual members to their state legislatures on Tuesday, including a lesbian Episcopal priest.”
Kim Jackson won in Georgia. She is described as “the first black LGBTQ+ person ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, previously served as chaplain at the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing and the Atlanta University Center, and as associate rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church,” the website for the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta states.”
In Tennessee Torrey Harris (Democrat) and Eddie Mannis (Republican) were voted into office. All three of these people openly oppose God’s word. What happened to the “bible belt?”
Well, now that they are in office, what will they do? They will do what they did to John DeBerry, “John DeBerry, a pro-life Democrat who supports biblical marriage and was forced to run as an Independent after the Democratic Party removed him from the ballot.” They will go against anyone with conservative and biblical views. There will be no tolerance for biblical values. But it will be taken another step.
The former mayor of Houston, Tx Annise Parker has the following hope, “Their presence in the state legislature can dilute the most toxic anti-LGBTQ voices and lead to more inclusive legislation.”
Every true believer and conservative will be put in the “most toxic anti-LGBTQ voices” slot.
Do not be deceived or surprised. God warned these times were coming thousands of years ago. What are believers to do? The same thing believers have done since the day of Pentecost, proclaim the good news of God.
Acts 5:40-42 KJV And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
Why do Christians risk their lives?
Matthew 10:26-28 KJV Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. 27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Jesus is coming. Are you ready to meet your Maker and judge?
