How Can One Tiny Country Cause so much Upheaval

Israel is so small on the map the name is written over the water and yet they are in the news everyday. The news will have us believe it is because neither the land or the city of Jerusalem belong to the Jews. The news and anyone who thinks God is finished with His chosen people are going to be in for a big shock. There is coming a time called the Day of the Lord, the last days, the time of Jacobs trouble, etc. and the truth will be revealed in God's glory.

Why is this important?

I know being absent of a biblical view towards events that happen around the world cause confusion, anger, and fear. It is only through scripture that the insanity that is upon us has meaning and purpose. There are many places in the bible that lay out future events concerning Israel and believers. Isaiah is one of those places.

In Isaiah 2 we find a description of the last days, Judah and Jerusalem are in deep rebellion against God. They are in idolatry and steeped in pride. God says I am going to judge you and destroy you before I restore you. Israel and Jerusalem were defeated by their enemies in the past but there is a future judgment coming not only against Israel but against the whole earth. This is definitely brief but there is a point. Jesus Christ is returning and His return is nothing like His first coming

2 Thessalonians 1:6 KJV Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Revelation 19:11-12 KJV 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Do you know this Jesus? Do you know the holy God of Israel? Do not mistake the second coming for the rapture of the true church (1 Thessalonians 1:10). When Jesus Christ returns it is to make war, bring judgment, and wrath. Are you ready to be judged by the holy and perfect God?
