Ungodly Leaders Ruling a Nation
What happens when ungodly leaders rule
Do you have an ungodly leader ruling your nation? The bible talks about people like this and what happens when they are in power.

An American citizen who will only describe himself as a Tea Partier grew tired of hearing President Obama lie to the rest of the country whenever the State of the Union came around.
After the president’s final speech had concluded, he decided to respond by making a video of every lie Obama ever told during the State of the Union.
Clocking in at a whopping 13 minutes (that’s a lot of lying!), just imagine how long this video would have to be to capture every lie of his presidency.
It’s worth a watch to see just how many times President Obama has shamelessly tried to deceive the American people:
Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule the people groan.
God has stated simply and clearly the righteous are good for a nation and the people rejoice. But when the ungodly rule the people people will groan under the leadership that will lead them to destruction.
Proverbs 29:12 If a ruler listens to falsehoods, all his officials will be wicked.
An ungodly leader will not only listen to lies, they will believe the lies and act upon the lies toward the people.
Ephesians 2:1 And you [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins 2 In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. 3 Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature], obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of [God’s] wrath and heirs of [His] indignation, like the rest of mankind.
Those who do not have faith in the name of Jesus Christ are under God's wrath and make choices based on sin and themself. Leaders who do not seek God for guidance will lead a nation to destruction and the people suffer.
What Happens To a Nation ruled by ungodlyness
2 Chronicles 36:11-14 (NIV) -- Zedekiah King of Judah
36:11 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years. 12 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord his God and did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet, who spoke the word of the Lord. 13 He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him take an oath in God’s name. He became stiff-necked and hardened his heart and would not turn to the Lord, the God of Israel. 14 Furthermore, all the leaders of the priests and the people became more and more unfaithful, following all the detestable practices of the nations and defiling the temple of the Lord, which he had consecrated in Jerusalem.
Disobedience to God starts at the top and runs down to the people. As the leaders do what is evil in the sight of God by passing laws that rebell against the laws of God, the people will also become "exceedingly unfaithful, following all the abominations of the nations."
However, the leaders of nations are not the only ones who "stiffen their neck and harden their heart against turning to the Lord."
Jeremiah 14:14 Then the Lord said to me, The [false] prophets prophesy lies in My name. I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, nor have I spoken to them. They prophesy to you a false or pretended vision, a worthless divination [conjuring or practicing magic, trying to call forth the responses supposed to be given by idols], and the deceit of their own minds. 15 Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the [false] prophets who prophesy in My name—although I did not send them—and who say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed. 16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, victims of famine and sword; and they shall have none to bury them—them, their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out their wickedness upon them [and not on their false teachers only, for the people could not have been deceived except by their own consent].
The religious leaders and the people turn from God. The church is not Israel but we look at what happened to Israel to understand what will happen to those who profess to be part of the church but teach from the "deceit of their own minds."
John 10:12 But the hired servant (he who merely serves for wages) who is neither the shepherd nor the owner of the sheep, when he sees the wolf coming, deserts the flock and runs away. And the wolf chases and snatches them and scatters [the flock]. 13 Now the hireling flees because he merely serves for wages and is not himself concerned about the sheep [cares nothing for them].
These leaders proclaim a non-biblical God and Jesus, using the bible to do so. They do not warn the wages of sin is death. They say what is wanted to be heard because they serve for wages not out of concern for the lost. By all appearances they seem righteous but in their heart they are full of self-indulgence. They lead their followers astray because they do not adhere to the whole word of God.
The news articles above are but a drop of water in the ocean. All it takes is a simple internet search to see the chaos, lawlessness, and aggression that is in the world.
The leaders are lying and the people are angry. Hope is becoming harder to hang on to as people are losing sight of a bright future. Remember Ephesians 2:1-3, spiritually dead, under the control of Satan, and a child of God's wrath. It goes on to say in verse 12, those without God are in the world without hope.
However, there is Someone who offers hope, understanding, and a desirable future.
who is the future hope when everything around us is falling apart
Ephesians 2:4 But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us, 5 Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation). 6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 7 He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; 9 Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]
But God are two words that extends hope to anyone who listens.
But God are two words that say, God is able to help you in your hopelessness.
But God defines His character of love, mercy, and grace.
But God is an interjection into someone's life.
Jesus Christ is the exact image and expression of God's love.
Jesus Christ came in order to satisfy the great and wonderful love with which God loved us.
Jesus Christ came and paid in the full the wages of sin which is eternal death in hell.
The cross of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, and the resurrection of Jesus extends death to sin, forgiveness of your sins, and resurrected life eternal in heaven.
Salvation from sin is God's gift of grace given when the heart believes Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead. You believe in your heart and profess these with your mouth to prove your salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
1 Timothy 4:10 It is for this that we labor and strive [often called to account], because we have fixed our [confident] hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe [in Him, recognize Him as the Son of God, and accept Him as Savior and Lord].
"what God intends for ALL, he actually gives to them that believe in Christ, who died for the sins of the whole world, and tasted death for every man. As all have been purchased by His blood so all MAY believe; and consequently all MAY be saved. Those that perish, perish through their own fault." (Clarke)
God does not want you to live a hopeless life.
