People Ask Where Is God?

Views 391

Many are asking where is/was God? We are now swirling into a downward spiral of destruction and chaos as witnessed by the events in our public schools, weather, people and yes our nation. You can clearly see all the events each year taking place and rising.

The following comments were made by Professor Pinker "It is not against religion. It is certainly against the belief that God interferes with the laws of the universe and that by praying to him we can make the world better. I think that is a dangerous belief because it's not true. If we want to make the world better, we have to figure out how to do it ourselves. If we want to cure disease, we have to come up with antibiotics and vaccines and not prayer. If we want to stave off global warming, we can't assume God won't let bad things happen."

He then says about Florida shooting, "Casting doubt on the idea that there is a benevolent shepherd who looks out for human welfare. What was the benevolent shepherd doing while the teenager was massacring his classmates."

His conclusion, "he (God) is not listening and we saw that yesterday."

Professor Pinker is not the only one asking this question, nor is it a new question. Believers and unbelievers have cried out, God where are you?

Why are we asking this question when clearly we are the ones who are kicking him out of everything or we are standing by on the sidelines waving while God is being kicked out.

God Taken Out

1960's Feminist Movement

It is so obvious to me that this movement was inspired by the enemy of our souls. Gloria Steinem and Betty Frieden and other disgruntled, male-hating females were determined to help usher women out of their kitchens and into the board rooms across America. So what if the children had to become latch-key kids? So what if men didn't know what was expected of them any longer – they were afraid to open a door for their date, wondering if they would get an earful that the woman was perfectly capable of opening their own doors!

And let's not forget about the "Pill" – which liberated women to become promiscuous without the worry of consequences.  After all – women had become the masters of their own destinies! [source]

1962 - In the case of Engel v. Vitale, the U. S. Supreme Court rules that the state of New York's Regents prayer violates the First Amendment. The ruling specifies that "state officials may not compose an official state prayer and require that it be recited in the public schools of the State at the beginning of each school day. . . "

School children saying the Lord's Prayer in 1963

1963 - In the cases of School District of Abington Township, Pennsylvania v. Schempp and Murray v. Curlett, the U. S. Supreme Court reaffirms Engel v. Vitale by ruling that "no state law or school board may require that passages from the Bible be read or that the Lord's Prayer be recited in the public schools . . . even if individual students may be excused from attending or participating . . ."

1973  Roe Vs. Wade – Abortion legal across America

They told women that it really wasn't a baby in their womb; oh, no no – it was just a clump of cells. Nothing to worry about!  It's better for both of you. After all, you are not ready to start a family……..

I also knew that the "Clump of cells" was a lie, but I knew as well that with women's new-found liberty and role in society, that as years went on, abortion would be allowed at any time during the pregnancy.  Unfortunately, what I thought back then has come to fruition.  Over 60 million unborn babies have been slaughtered since abortion was made legal in 1973. 1980 - Stone v, Graham -- banned the posting of the the Ten Commandments on public school classroom walls.

1985 - In the case of Wallace v, Jaffree, the U.S. Supreme Court finds that Alabama statutes authorizing silent prayer and teacher-led voluntary prayer in public schools violate the First Amendment.

1992 - Lee v, Weisman -- outlawed prayers led by members of the clergy at public school graduation ceremonies.

2000 - In yet another case regarding school prayer (Santa Fe School District v. Doe), the U.S. Supreme Court rules that the district's policy of allowing student-led prayer prior to football games violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

Because God Was Taken Out Evil Thrives

2014 -  The Minnesota State High School League votes on December 4 to adopt a policy allowing transgender students to join female sports teams. Minnesota is the 33rd state to have a formal transgender student policy.

2015 - New Law on Gay Marraige

2015 - Fight to take the Ten Commandments out. The states are: Oklahoma, Alambama, Kentucky, Texas, Arkansas and more.

2016 - On May 13, the federal government tells school districts "to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity." Though the directive is not a law, districts that do not comply could face lawsuits or lose federal aid.

There are many more but these above explain plenty.

Results Of GOD Taken Out

1999 - On April 20th, two Columbine High School students go on a killing spree that leaves 15 dead and 23 wounded at the Littleton, Colorado school, making it the nations' deadliest school shooting incident. Though schools tighten safety procedures as a result of the Columbine massacre, school shootings continue to occur at an alarming rate.

2007 - Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old student, kills two students in a dorm and then 30 others in a classroom building at Virginia Tech University. Fifteen others are wounded. His suicide brings the death toll to 33, making it the deadliest school shooting incident in U.S. history.

2012 - On December 14 Adam Lanza, 20, kills his mother and then invades Sandy Hook Elementary School where he kills 20 children and six adults, including principal Dawn Hochsprung and psychologist Mary Sherlachmaking, making this the second deadliest mass shooting by a single person in U.S. history.

2013 - On October 21, a 13-year-old student arrives on the campus of Sparks, Nevada middle school armed with a handgun. He wounds two 12-year old boys and kills a teacher who was trying to protect other students before he turns the gun on himself and takes his own life.

2013 -  In yet another school shooting tragedy, high school senior Karl Pierson enters Arapohoe High School  (Centennial, Colorado) on December 13 armed with a shotgun, machete, and Molotov Cocktails. His goal apparently was to take revenge on the school librarian and debate coach who had disciplined him earlier in the school year. Instead, before taking his own life, he critically wounds a female classmate. She dies eight days later.

2014 - Based on a report from a group called Every Town for Gun Safety, a CNN article published on June 12 states that there have been 74 school shootings in the last 18 months, 15 of which have been "Newtown-like incidents." What the heck is going on?

2015 -  Another senseless, mass school shooting occurs on October 1 when Chris Harper Mercer kills nine and wounds several others at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. As always seems to be the case, the slaughter ends when the shooter takes his own life. Are these tragedies really becoming "routine" as President Obama says?

2018 - Middle School Tells Students: Islam Is the "True Faith"The "separation of church and state" is certainly upheld in today's government schools. As for the separation of mosque and state, well, not so much.

2018 - Nicholas Cruz is charged with 17 counts of murder in yet another horrific school massacre. This attack, that occurred February 14th in Parkland, Florida, brings the total number of school shooting incidents for this year to 18. Eight have resulted in injury or death, including the Marshall County High School (Kentucky) shooting that left two dead and many others injured. Is there no way to prevent these senseless tragedies?

The school system teaches the following that goes against the laws of God. These are abortions, anti-Christian, atheist going after anyone displaying biblical versus within public eye, climate change, white movement, black movement, female movement, kids being taught they are gender neutral, sharing bathrooms with the opposite sex, and now the saying that people who talk to Jesus have a mental illness. All this is God being kicked out of our lives, schools and country. How can you wonder why this is happening?

A true believer knows exactly what is happening and knows where God is and what He is doing. For those who do not believe He is no where to be found therefore they are asking where is God.

History of God being Taken Out

Disobedience to God results in the absence of a relationship with God. Let's take a short look beginning with:

  1. Genesis -
    1. Satan talked to Eve and disobedience by Adam and Eve was the result. In their disobedience they hid themselves from God. ch. 3
    2. First murder took place - ch. 4
    3. A nation wiped out for kicking God out ch. 11
    4. Multiple languages are created due to kicking God out ch. 11
    5. Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah kicking God out ch. 19

The list goes on and on when you read the bible.

When God Is Not King

1 Samuel 8:5 and said to him, "Behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations."

Israel did not want God to be their king. What they wanted was to be like everyone else. God wants them to be set apart. However God did give them a human king.

America has also believed they do not want God to be their king they therefore elected leaders who did not follow the biblical God. This has happened several times in America and the last harsh task master was Obama. Christians grew tired and cried out to God to save them and it began with Franklin Graham who traveled to all 50 states in 2016 preaching the good news and telling people to vote for a believer. God answered and Trump became our new leader (President) despite what others thought. God heard our prayers but it did not stop there. So why did God not intervene in all the violence that is happening. God did intervene he sent His only begotten son and everything else belongs to God. This is something man cannot answer but must have faith in our Righteous Lord God!

Objection to The Intervening

The worldview has one side, theirs and that is not reality. The worldview is, I want to feel, think, and act however I feel, I want to decide for myself what is good and evil, but I want God to stop all the things I have determined as bad. Are children killing children bad, of course. But it is much deeper than what is being taught and that is why it is getting worse and not better. Before we begin, we will see how God intervened in history.

Genesis 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Genesis 1-2 is how the heavens, earth, people, and all things came into being. Some of you are having problems already. God says, everything He created is good. So if God's creation is good and man is made in the image of a holy God, what happened?

Genesis 3 tells us and this is where we find who we became. God is holy and perfect. God is not tempted by sin, is sinless, and does not tempt us with sin. Genesis 3 shines light on our inability to not do bad things and the world's ability to destroy.

After God created all things, Eve had a visitor and his name is the devil, Satan, accuser of believers, etc. He came with a goal, deceive her about God and ensnare her into pride and become a slave to sin. Satan talked and Eve listened. She thought about what God said, what she had heard, and came to the conclusion disobedience to God was better than obedience. Both she and Adam failed. Because of this sin, pride, entered into the nature of everyone. Did God know this was going to happen?

Isaiah 40:13; 46:9-10, Romans 12:34; I Corinthians 2:16;

Yes God knows all things from the end to the beginning and yet He did not intervene. There can be no complete understanding but we do know from before God created all things, He has a plan and His love, holiness, justice, wrath, mercy, grace, etc. and our free will clash quite often.

Did God intervene in the lives of Adam, Eve, and Satan?

Genesis 3:15,21 tells us how? God made the promise of One coming Who will defeat Satan completely and restore people back to their original state of being. In the overall view, God's grace through the Holy Spirit intervenes constantly, but people say "I don't see that".

What about the "benevolent shepherd"

What was the benevolent shepherd doing? The better question is, what has He done?

The benevolent shepherd (Jesus) came for all who will accept Him. This begins in Genesis 3 the promised one.

Hebrews 2:14 NASB Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.

Jesus Christ, the Promised One came from heaven to earth to intervene by defeating the power of the devil.

1 John 3:8 NASB the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

The cross of Jesus Christ destroyed the works of Satan which we saw in Genesis 3.

Colossians 1:13 NASB For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Faith in Jesus Christ moves us from the kingdom of darkness (Satan) into the kingdom of light (God). But the view is God is doing nothing, the question is what are you doing with the cross, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ.

Does God hear prayer

Psalm 139:1-4 and Isaiah 46:9-11, but two of many, tell us God knows and hears everything. So, what happens?

Isaiah 1:15 NASB I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood.

Proverbs 28:9 NASB Anyone who turns his ear away from hearing the law—even his prayer is detestable.

The question is not does God hear but why isn't He answering. When we as a society dethrone God, mock God, and teach children they are nothing and life is of no value, I'm not really sure what is the expected outcome. God is long suffering but He will allow people to have what they ask for and then they are angry at the God they don't believe exists.

God's Comfort

Everyone needs comfort and the security someone understands during times of great stress. God does offer help and rest.

John 16:33 NASB These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

God does not promise a life without pain, suffering, and struggle here on earth. Jesus does offer His peace and His victory. In losing someone we never are the same but we, through Christ Jesus, are held and healed of our broken heart.

Matthew 11:28 NASB "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Romans 8:28 NASB And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

I myself have stood on this promise in times of deep distress and anxiety. It does not mean, even to this day, I understand. It means I came out with a different view of myself, the world, and God.

Are you a believer in the name Jesus, the Son of God? If so pray for those in their time of tragedy. Reach out to the saved and unsaved with love and mercy for their loss while praying for the salvation of their soul.

Isaiah 52:7 NASB How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness,Who announces salvation, And says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
