Peace & Security Is What They Will Say, but What Does God Say

Views 768

There are many who are chasing peace and security in the middle east in hopes to stabilize the world. When Trump gave his speech in Saudi Arabia he to touched on peace and security. This certainty stirred things up. But as a believer in Jesus the Christ we will address the chase of peace and safety.

Our vision is one of peace, security, and prosperity—in this region, and in the world.[1]

In my inaugural address to the American People, I pledged to strengthen America's oldest friendships, and to build new partnerships in pursuit of peace.[1]

Presidents before him also chased peace and safety in the middle east. There are many reasons, theories, and opinions as how to accomplish this but no one has been able to reach this goal. God gives us a warning about the words peace and safety.

Peace means - freedom from war or a stopping of war, a treaty or agreement to end war or the threat of war

Security means - the state of being or feeling secure; freedom from fear, anxiety, danger, doubt, etc.; state or sense of safety or certainty, something that gives or assures safety, tranquility, certainty, etc.; protection; safeguard

Safety means - the quality or condition of being safe; freedom from danger, injury, or damage; security

1Thessalonians 5:3 ESV While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Before the Sudden Destruction

The Coming of the Lord I Thessalonians 4:13-18 ESV 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord,[d] that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

In chapter 4 of 1 Thessalonians Paul explains to the believers what is going to happen to those who are alive and dead when Christ returns. Believers are not to grieve for those who died as those who have no hope do. Why do believers have hope?

As Christians we believe Jesus was crucified, dead, buried, and resurrected on the third day. Jesus is alive and when He comes for His church the dead will be resurrected first to be caught up to meet Him and then those alive will be caught up to meet Him in the air. At that moment Christ takes His church to be with Him forever and He pronounces judgment (destruction) on the earth.

Destruction (olethros 3639) - 1) ruin, destroy, death 1a) for the destruction of the flesh, said of the external ills and troubles by which the lusts of the flesh are subdued and destroyed from a primary ollumi (to destroy; a prolonged form); ruin, i.e. death, punishment:-destruction.

This will be a complete surprise because people will not be looking for Him. Instead they will be saying, peace and safety. They will be living life as if all is well (you can read our bible studies on The Days of Noah 1 and 2).

Luke 17:26 ESV 26 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, 29 but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— 30 so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

People will be living a normal life believing they are safe. Then out of no where destruction will come upon them and there will be no escape. Just like when labor pains begin they do not stop until the goal is reached. So it will be when the "the Day of the Lord" comes. The Antichrist will be revealed And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator. Daniel 9:27 ESV”. Then the Antichrist will propose a seven year peace treaty with Israel and others and this will be the beginning of the Tribulation.

As believers we are to look up for our Lord and Savior to come.

I Thessalonians 5:9 AMPC For God has not appointed us to [incur His] wrath [He did not select us to condemn us], but [that we might] obtain [His] salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)
