Jesus Converts None
These articles are very important to pay attention to, because the focus was never on Jesus. If you read these articles and watch the videos you can clearly see the focus comes from man's viewpoint, not God’s. We have included both articles for you to read below.
Article: Gulfport church causes stir with anti-Allah sign
Article: Heated debate over Allah and Jesus converts none in Gulfport
There are three words in all of this to be looked at: Satan, debate, and Jesus. This was the pinnacle of the gathering.
Allah was referred to as Satan in this meeting, however Allah means god to the people who believe in the Qur'an. In the video he states” There is nothing contentious between Muslims and Christians”. This is where Chrislam comes in, however there cannot be Chrislam because, Allah has no son and the Living God has a Son who is Jesus Christ. The Solid Foundation of a Christian’s belief is in the Son of God Jesus Christ. Who was Satan?
Ezekiel 28:12-18 12 “Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared.
14 You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. In verse 14 God refers to an anointed guardian cherub. A cherub is an angel, therefore He is talking about Satan. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. 16 In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you. 18 By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries; so I brought fire out from your midst; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you.
Satan is an angelic being created by God and he was perfect in his ways. God created him to be beautiful. Just like God created man with a freewill, He also created angels with freewill. Satan became full of pride because of his beauty and his wisdom turned from obedience and humility toward God to rebellion and pride against God.
Read Isaiah 14:12-15
12 How you have fallen from heaven, you morning star, son of the dawn!
How you have been cut down to the ground, you conqueror of nations!
13 You thought, “I’ll go up to heaven and set up my throne above God’s stars.
I’ll sit on the mountain far away in the north where the gods assemble.
14 I’ll go above the top of the clouds.
I’ll be like the Most High.”
15 But you’ve been brought down to Sheol,
to the deepest part of the pit.
The pride of Satan lead him to want to be God himself but God threw him out of heaven. When Satan was forced out ? of the Angels went with him. Satan is a spirit being of evil. Satan chose himself. There are many who are lead by Satan and have the character of pride and rebellion.
A debate should never be apart of teaching the Word of God to someone, ever! You are either led by the Holy Spirit or you are not.
1 Corinthians 1:20 20 Where is the wise man (the philosopher)? Where is the scribe (the scholar)? Where is the investigator (the logician, the debater) of this present time and age? Has not God shown up the nonsense and the folly of this world’s wisdom?
God says there is no worldly wisdom that is able to debate the Wisdom of God. Who knows the heart of God but God. How do we know the heart of God, by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that brings all Truth not man’s wisdom. What happened in that meeting saddens our hearts!
2 Timothy 2-14-15 14 Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
No one will ever surrender to God through the debate of words. God does not appeal to the mind and reasoning of man. God cuts the heart of sin and rebellion through the cross of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Religion looks like godliness but it denies the power.
The cross of Christ is foolish to man. The Word of God is alive and when spoken by the power of the Holy Spirit it will cut to the very marrow of a person bringing grace, faith and salvation.
The church is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ not debate over who is right or wrong.
Matthew 10:22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake, but he who perseveres and endures to the end will be saved [from spiritual disease and death in the world to come].
Matthew 10:32 Therefore, everyone who acknowledges Me before men and confesses Me [out of a state of oneness with Me], I will also acknowledge him before My Father Who is in heaven and confess [that I am abiding in] him. 33 But whoever denies and disowns Me before men, I also will deny and disown him before My Father Who is in heaven. 34 Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
John 15:18 If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before it hated you.
Quote from article: "If we continue down that road, nothing will be accomplished," Shabazz said in rebuttal. "You will leave here just like you came here, probably disliking someone even more. That's not the purpose of religion; the purpose of religion is to unite." Is unity the answer? No
Religion may on the surface appear to be about unity but when you are a disciple of Jesus Christ the peace of this world is not yours (John 14:27). It is not for a believer to look for trouble or attack others. It is for the true believer filled with the Holy Spirit to tell the sinful world Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God in flesh, the only way to Heaven and this will bring you all the trouble, attacks, hate and tribulation you can handle. Even demons believe in God but Jesus as THE Truth, THE Life and THE Way to His Heavenly Father that is what offends.
Religions unity is believing man can earn heaven through their works and therefore they deserve to be saved based on their goodness. Do not be deceived by any religion that is works based. No one is good by God’s standard and no one deserves to be saved. Everyone sins and deserves death. It is through God’s grace by your faith in the name Jesus Christ that you receive salvation, there is no other name or way by which people will be saved from hell (John 14:6).
Read Acts 6:9 and 7:1-59
In Acts Stephen glowed with the Holy Spirit thereby he spoke powerfully and the listeners were “stung with fury”. The listeners were unbelievers and the religious. They stoned him out of their fury, he forgave them, and Jesus Christ stood up for him.
MEETING TOOK A DIFFERENT TURN
What went wrong in the meeting that took place? There are many words to be spoken here, but we will stick with a few. The first downfall was there was pride of proving who was right. The second was they spoke words with no power, and last the message on the marque was never about JESUS being GOD.
The Pastor of Cowan Road Baptist Church made this about Allah, however Allah is not the bottom line. The bottom line should have been about Jesus, period. Satan had a plan and they all took the bait. Part of the article says “Jesus converts none in Gulfport”. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) those who are willing to accept the task. That day, he stole an opportunity to show the world why Christ came, which killed the opportunity to spread the gospel and destroyed the purpose of that meeting which was to be about Jesus Christ who is Savior and Lord.
FINAL WORDS FROM LHWM
Jesus Christ is our living blessed hope. As times become filled with chaos, confusion, and lawlessness do not lose sight of your calling and God’s will for all those who belong to Him.
