Are you attending a false church?
2 Timothy 4:3 KJV 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
This time has come. Those who lead a church today are basically motivational speakers using God’s word. The purpose of a motivational speaker is to inspire people into some kind of action. But the inspiration is for worldly gain through the action. This pleases the emotions and flesh. It draws the picture that God is here to meet our every want.
A True church should represent this
2 Timothy 4:2 KJV Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
A true preacher of the Word of God has a clearly defined path. Which is to preach and teach the whole Word of God whether the people want to hear it or not. Someone who preaches or teaches has the responsibility to reprove, rebuke, and strongly influence the people toward a relationship with God Himself.
What America has been taught, yet only few seek the TRUTH
America has heard a false gospel for so long now that the true gospel of Jesus Christ is offensive to these people (see first verse). Because these people are looking for a false gospel, they turn their back on anyone who speaks God’s Truth. The church has and is exchanging the Truth for a lie.
What makes up this deception?
The speakers do not teach the whole truth instead half truths are spoken and what is being said is not questioned. There has been a whole new way of thinking brought into the church that opposes God’s Word. However, the speakers are dynamic and charismatic which engages the emotions. This is what the people want, to feel good about themselves and their life no matter what lifestyle they are living. God has been reduced to an emotional God.
The TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ confronts, challenges and convicts people of their lifestyle and no one wants to be judged. The whole word of God does not just have love, forgiveness and grace. The whole word of God encompasses suffering, repentance, sin, blood, cross, wrath, judgment, holiness and crucifixion etc. Today church planter’s sole purpose is to acquire a large congregation for one main reason, so they are told to speak only on positive messages that make you feel good about yourself. Can you name any preachers who speak in this manner?
Is deception in the church new?
2 Peter 2:1 KJV 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Galatians 2:4 KJV And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
So to answer the question is deception in the church new? no, this is nothing new.
Why is this important?
When you are a Christian (especially a new one) you believe someone who says they are a Christian. Instead you are to ( John 7:24 ) Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously. If you are the one who believes someone at their first word then you will be deceived by a false brother or sister. If you’re looking to not be deceived pray for discernment and the Holy Spirit will show who they really are. Are you attending a church that is filled with deception and false doctrine? This has been taking place since the church was young and is definitely in the church now. Deception leads to slavery, and slavery is slavery whether it is to earn your salvation or seek worldly gain.
Where does deception come from?
2 Corinthians 11:13 KJV 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
The ultimate picture God paints concerning false teachers is, it is the doctrine of Satan. Satan’s foundational lie is “you can be like God and know good from evil” ( Genesis 3:5 ). Which means you (not God) decides what is good and evil. God tells us because of this His Truth will be exchanged for a lie and good will be called evil and evil will be called good. Why, because man is calling the shots.
Why is this happening?
Because the leaders take a verse and twist it to say what the people want to hear. Some go so far as to say the bible is outdated and no longer relevant.

- Do you desire something new and exciting?
- Are you familiar and do you know the word spoken and know this does not agree with God’s word but you justify it or find someone to justify it for you?
- Are you aware and do you know what God says about sin and the true gospel of His Son Jesus Christ?
- Is your faith able to stand without doubt when challenged?
As the doctrine of “and you will be like God, knowing the difference between good and evil” continues to put man on God’s throne, do not forget Salvation is the thought of God not man.
Jesus came to save sinners and no one else.
