God chose the nation of Israel to be His chosen people. He blessed them, guided them, and he protected them. America is not a chosen nation, per se, but we are a nation that was founded on biblical principles. We also have been blessed, guided and protected by God.
However, today in America, people do not want God to be their only authority, they want to be the authority. Because of this, we will come under the same judgments as Israel did in 1 Samuel 8. Just like Israel, America does not want God to be their king. However, America did not start off as a secular nation.
America’s Foundation was Based on the Bible and Jesus
Those who founded this nation (America) were bible believing men. Everything they did was based on the bible and Jesus. The documents written show proof that we were to be a Christian nation.
In fact, when we examine the hundreds of thousands of founding documents for the nation, we find that the entire purpose for our break with Britain, was to become a Christian nation, under the God of the Bible. [1]
The motto of the American Revolution declared that they would have “No King but King Jesus.”[1]
Therefore, America started out to have God as their foundation.
It really could not be any clearer than has already been stated in the most famous of all American founding documents; The Declaration of Independence. The Founding Fathers were primarily Christian men, who believed in God and were seeking to found a nation that could enjoy the freedoms that God intended for all people. For this reason, the laws which make up the Constitution, came from the basic principles of God’s law, as found in the Bible. If we examine the laws that God has declared for mankind, we see that the laws of the United States, closely parallel what God has ordained for all people. [1]
America Today and 1 Samuel 8 (Pushing God Out)
America resembles 1 Samuel 8. Just like Israel, we started out saying Jesus is King. However, along the way, people began voicing their demand that God be taken out. What God has to offer us no longer appeals to us. In addition, we desire to govern over ourselves without God, just like the rest of the world.
We find that Israel demanded the same thing. God grants what they want, but it comes with a warning. God always warns before we choose to turn our back on Him.
1 Samuel 8 BSB; 7 And the LORD said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you. For it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected Me as their king. 8 Just as they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking Me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them, but you must solemnly warn them and show them the manner of the king who will reign over them.”
God Provides a Warning Before We Reject Him as King
God constantly issues a warning in the hopes that it would prompt us to turn from our sin and return to Him. Like Israel, He forewarned them about what would happen if they elected a man to rule them. Below we will provide the warning for Israel and then compare it to today’s terminology.
Israel’s Warning 1 samuel 8:11-12
11 He said, “This will be the manner of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them to his own chariots and horses, to run in front of his chariots. 12 He will appoint some for himself as commanders of thousands and of fifties, and others to plow his ground, to reap his harvest, to make his weapons of war, and to equip his chariots.
America’s Warning 1 samuel 8:11-12
You want a person to reign over you. You don’t want God to be anywhere, you want him to disappear. And God says okay, but this is the kind of person that you’re going to be ruled by. You will be under this person’s rule. He will take your sons and make them work for him. He will force them to do whatever he wants them to do to benefit himself.
Israel’s Warning 1 samuel 8:13
13 And he will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers.
America’s Warning 1 samuel 8:13
He will take the females and turn them into slaves for himself.
Israel’s Warning 1 samuel 8:14-17
14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his servants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and grape harvest and give it to his officials and servants. 16 And he will take your menservants and maidservants and your best cattle and donkeys and put them to his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves.
America’s Warning 1 samuel 8:14-17
He’s going to take your land, your food, and everything that you own. He will try to take all of it. Therefore, he will tax your money, gas, and make everything go up because he can. Not because it has to, but because he can. And he will reap from your hard-earned money. This will cause the people to suffer. This king will be a totalitarian ruler. And there will be no more middle class because the cost of everything is rising. Jobs are being lost. Because of this, we will become slaves.
Israel’s Warning 1 samuel 8:18
18 When that day comes, you will beg for relief from the king you have chosen, but the LORD will not answer you on that day.”
America’s Warning 1 samuel 8:18
When all this occurs, at some point we will cry out to God, but the Lord will not answer you. Because we chose for ourselves to remove God from our nation.
Because of taxes without representation, many fled Britain and settled in what is now known as America. They were heavily taxed. That is currently taking place in our country.
The people also left because they were being martyred for their Christian beliefs. Today, in America, persecution is on the rise. We have leaders who rule over us now because we kicked God out of our nation beginning in 1962. And since then, it’s just gotten progressively worse.
God Grants America’s Decision and We Have Become a Godless Nation
In 1962 and 1963, the future for America changed when God was no longer welcomed in the school system. Since 1962, America has systematically begun to kick God out of other places. The people cried out and pushed for God to be removed. Below is when it began and laws were passed rejecting God.
1962: The end of school prayer: In Engle v. Vitale, the the Supreme Court reinterpreted the First Amendment’s protection of religion as a right of free exercise, because of complaints from parents. The following is the prayer that parents objected to:
“Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country. Amen.”[1]
1963: Lower court rules the Bible is no longer allowed in public schools. In Abington v. Schempp, the court ruled that no school board or state law had the right to require students to read Bible scriptures at the start of the school day. [1]
1963: Supreme court rules that prayer is not allowed in school. Madalyn Murray O’Hair founds The American Atheists. In Murray v. Curlett, the Supreme Court ruled 8 to 1 in favor of abolishing school prayer and Bible reading in the public schools. [1]
Currently, they are working to nullify our constitution because it will take away all of our rights. This includes our religious freedoms to worship the Lord God Almighty. It will also, destroy the biblical foundation this nation was founded on. If this happens, then what do you think will happen next?
America Will Fall At Some Point
The constitution is the last form of defense to be a Godly nation. It proves that America was built on biblical beliefs. Eradicating this document will be the end of America as a biblical nation. As believers, we know this is part of God’s plan.
We read somewhere that during World War 2 they would say “You have my body, but you do not own my mind, my will, or my soul!”
This push to eradicate God out of the world shows the world is ushering in the Antichrist. However, Jesus is coming for His bride before all nations come under the rule of the Antichrist. We pray you keep your eyes on Christ and your heart in the Word of God.
Pray for our nation, leaders and those that rule over us who continue to stand on what our founding fathers provided.
