Do You Want To Be Different Through Your Storms

Is Jesus Asleep

Matthew 8:24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep.

This is the best way to show how I saw Jesus, but He was much brighter and He was calm!

Does it seem as if Jesus is asleep during your storm of heartache? I have gone through some storms recently and the pain in my heart overwhelmed me. I could not have handled the pain apart from Jesus holding me. I asked the Lord to show me the good in this and three days later He did. He gave me a vision of Him standing in the midst of the storm and my pain.

Jesus was there hearing our prayers and helping us through. Jesus is always there listening! Storms are to bring us closer to Jesus and test our faith. It is the unexpected that shows us who we really are in our heart.

Storms Are Ragging

It takes very little faith when we are ankle to waist deep in the water and in control of the boat. It is when circumstances come that are out of our control and appear to be able to overcome us that we struggle with.

The storms of life will push and beat against us just like a storm will a boat. It is here we come face to face with our true maturity and depth of faith. Satan wants us to focus on the injustice of the storm. This means the storms are not easy and it takes all your energy and strength just to keep going day to day.

Matthew 08 - Jesus calms storm

The disciples woke Jesus up and said, ... "Save us, Lord; we are perishing! Matthew 8:25" Jesus calmed the storm. He also told them they had little faith. Yes, there are times it seems Jesus is asleep and it feels as if He does not care or will not help. The bible says, Psalm 33:20 NASB Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.

The Other Side

James 1:2 Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

We are to consider our storms or tests and trials as joyous events. This is not the case in the beginning but through perseverance our mind begins to change and we see that if we allow God, the storm will change us on the inside. We will experience for ourself the "love of Christ which surpasses all knowledge." Then the joy of the Lord comes rushing in like a wind of wonder.

When the storm is complete our walk with the Lord deepens. We grow stronger in knowing we are loved. Why consider the test joyful? It is the test that produces endurance and when there is no need for endurance we are mature and lack nothing. Enduring until the end brings blessing, proves to ourself God's love is in us, and we will receive the crown of life, to be forever surrounded by holy pure love.

James 1:12 A man who endures trials is blessed, because when he passes the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

[Verse 1]
I don't wanna hear anymore, teach me to listen
I don't wanna see anymore, give me a vision
That you could move this heart, to be set apart

[Verse 2]
I don't need to recognize, the man in the mirror
And I don't wanna trade Your plan, for something familiar
I can't waste a day, I can't stay the same

[Chorus 1]
I wanna be different
I wanna be changed
'Til all of me is gone
And all that remains
Is a fire so bright
The whole world can see
That there's something different
So come and be different
In me!

[Verse 3]
And I don't wanna spend my life, stuck in a pattern
And I don't wanna gain this world but lose what matters
And so I'm giving up, everything because...

[Chorus 2]
I wanna be different
I wanna be changed
'Til all of me is gone
And all that remains
Is a fire so bright
The whole world can see
That there's something different
So come and be different, ooh

[Bridge]
I know that I am far from perfect
But through You the cross still says I'm worth it
So take this beating in my heart and
Come and finish what You started
When they see me, let them see You
'Cause I just wanna be different, ye-ey

[Chorus 3]
I wanna be different
I wanna be changed
'Til all of me is gone
And all that remains
Ooh is a fire so bright
The whole world can see
That there's something different
So come and be different
I just wanna be different
So could You be different
In me!

Watchman

Ezekiel 33:6 "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand." (Amplified Bible)
